Amazon has made a last-minute bid to acquire TikTok as a nationwide ban on the platform looms. A Trump administration official confirmed the offer, which was sent in a letter to Vice President JD Vance and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.

Amazon’s surprise bid comes amid a flurry of activity from other interested buyers, including Oracle, Andreessen Horowitz, Blackstone and even a consortium backed by social media influencers like MrBeast. Some appear to have a better shot than others.

Despite the increasing number of potential buyers, neither the app nor its Chinese owner have confirmed they will do a deal.
