According to the National Park Service, the facility management building, the Western National Parks warehouse, the welding shop, several pieces of heavy equipment, the South Rim Campground, and numerous bathrooms and overlooks throughout the park were either destroyed or heavily damaged in the fire.

The Monroe Canyon Fire, a human-caused wildfire in Sevier County, has spread to over 8,600 acres and is 0% contained, leading to ongoing evacuations. Officials seek to identify a person linked to its start.
