Serious injuries were reported after a pedestrian was struck on Route 8 in Ansonia Friday evening, Connecticut State Police said.

The crash occurred on Route 8 southbound near Exit 15 around 8:53 p.m. Friday. Route 8 southbound is currently closed for investigation.
