Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is off to a very strong start on Steam, with the RPG being the best-selling game in the U.S. during its debut week.

Rebirth missed its sales goals on PlayStation 5, the game has enjoyed a very strong launch on Steam PC so far.

Nic says that RPG remake sequel Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is " uneven, unfocused, and unmissable ". You also can’t miss its regular performance hiccups, which most often manifest as little but frequent stutters that occur as you’re moseying around its poorly planet.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was a major hit last year on PS5, and it's continuing that trend with its PC port, as one analyst concludes the JRPG "had a fantastic Steam launch" last month. Circana games industry analyst Mat Piscatella has shared some info from Circana's own retail tracking service on Bluesky,

Evidently, FF7 Rebirth is another SSD -hogging gigantogame, though for some the bigger concern will be those minimum GPU specs. While none of the Radeon, RX 6600, Arc A580, or RTX 2060 are high-end cards in themselves, the official listings' emphasis on meeting at least these specific hardware generations does reveal an unusually high fussiness.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth gets its first PC update patch, which is largely centered around fixing some of the recently released port's technical issues.
