Beyond Nintendo, stock is still sparse. As of our latest sweep, the device remains completely unavailable at Walmart, GameStop, Best Buy, Target and other retailers. This has (mostly) been the case in the US since the Switch 2 first went up for sale on April 24, and it remains unclear when it'll change.

At 11:34AM ET, deals-hunter Wario64 posted that GameStop’s Switch 2 preorders were actually live. A few Verge staffers were then able to get a console in their cart, and one was actually able to make a purchase, but they didn’t get a confirmation email from GameStop until shortly after 1PM ET.

Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 officially went live on April 24, first with Walmart, Best Buy, GameStop, and Target, but both the standalone console and the Mario Kart World bundle had sold out within minutes.
