The White House defended Donald Trump's stay at two golf properties during a "working visit" to Scotland that included meetings with European leaders.

President Trump opened a new golf course bearing his name in Scotland on Tuesday, capping a five-day foreign trip designed around playing golf and agreeing on a major trade deal framework with the EU.

The golf-focused trip gave him a chance to escape Washington's summer heat, but he could not avoid questions about Jeffrey Epstein, the deepening food crisis in Gaza or other issues that trailed him across the Atlantic.
