Even though Carr's decision to retirement came as a shock to the NFL world, the Saints weren't left in the dark about it.

After Derek Carr's sudden retirement, the New Orleans Saints are left with three quarterbacks on their active roster. And according to new head coach Kellen Moore, they will each get a chance to compete for the starting role in Carr's absence.

Saints head coach Kellen Moore said the starting QB job will be an open competition between rookie Tyler Shough, Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener. Mark Kaboly stated that the Steelers' issues with George Pickens were far worse "behind closed doors" than what was seen publicly.
