There are no real surprises in the first wave of cuts. The more difficult decisions will come as the roster gets closer to 53 players on Monday and Tuesday. Among those waived on Sunday were safety Malik Dixon-Williams, Josh Pearcy and Dresser Winn. Undrafted rookie Trey Wedig was also waived on Sunday in the first round of moves.

The Los Angeles Rams did not wait until the Tuesday deadline to start releasing players as the team announced the first 11 to not make the final 53-man roster. None of the first 11 to be released are surprises, including Saturday’s quarterback Dresser Winn and the leading tackler from the game, Tony Fields.
