A Kenyan lawmaker was shot dead on Wednesday night in the capital Nairobi by gunmen on motorcycles, local broadcaster Citizen TV reported.

A Kenyan member of parliament has been shot dead in the streets of the capital Nairobi by gunmen on a motorcycle in a suspected assassination. Police said the attackers had been trailing Charles Ong'ondo Were's vehicle before one of them got off the motorbike and shot him at close range.

Gunmen riding a motorcycle have reportedly shot a Kenyan lawmaker, Charles Were, dead on Wednesday in Nairobi. According to Citizen TV, Were was killed at approximately 7:30 p.m. local time. The deceased represented Kasipul constituency in western Kenya.
