With the loser going home, the Miami RedHawks played Wake Forest in the Knoxville Regional Saturday afternoon. The Demon Deacons ended Miami's season.
The RedHawks won the final two games of the three-game series against the Milkmen. F-M opens a four-game set against Kansas City at 7:02 p.m. Monday, June 2, at Newman Outdoor Field. Kansas City leads the American Association's West Division at 15-6. The 13-8 RedHawks are third in the West, two games back of the Monarchs.
The Fargo Moorhead Redhawks were looking for the series win this afternoon in Milwaukee, after taking last night’s game 6-4 in extra innings. It would be a low scoring affair in the final game of a 9 game road trip for Fargo Moorhead.
Paden Lewis broke the school record in the discus (193′ 2). Lewis’ career-best effort placed him 10th in College Station Regionals, giving him a chance to throw one last time for the Redhawks at the national event. Lewis also competed at nationals during the indoor season.

In the bottom of the first, Milwaukee’s Scott Ota would club a solo shot to give the Milkmen a 1-0 lead. Milwaukee would keep slugging, as in the bottom of the 3rd, Erik Ostberg would hit a solo shot, and Milwaukee would grab a 2-0 lead. However, the next half inning, was when Fargo Moorhead started to throw some punches.
FRANKLIN, Wis. — Fargo-Moorhead scored the deciding runs on an error and the RedHawks' bullpen shut down Milwaukee in a 6-4 win on Saturday before 1,257 at Franklin Field. Fargo-Moorhead scored the tying and go-ahead runs in the sixth inning and five RedHawks relievers came through with 4-2/3 scoreless innings to hold the lead.
Colton Moffit struck out 10 over seven innings and the Baxter baseball team posted its second straight win over North Tama following a 7-0 home win on Wednesday. The Bolts scored once in the third and then broke the Iowa Star Conference South Division game open with a six-run sixth.
