The Pittsburgh Steelers took their time in contract discussions with superstar pass rusher T.J. Watt. While the situation took a lot longer to figure out than fans would have liked, the end result was what everyone was hoping to see. Watt agreed to a massive three-year, $123 million contract extension this week.

A byproduct of bringing in guys like quarterback Aaron Rodgers, cornerbacks Darius Slay and Jalen Ramsey and finally wide receiver Robert Woods is that the Steelers are an older team than last year.

According to the longtime Steelers insider, both sides were reportedly at a stalemate leading up to the deal — with little evidence to suggest progress was being made in negotiations.
