A sequel to the 2016 hit, this movie about an animal metropolis takes on an even messier social allegory than the first one, while building out a wider (if bloated) universe.

Walt Disney Animation's Zootopia 2 is defying the trends of the past year - and beyond - for Hollywood in China, nabbing the biggest opening day and highest single-day box office for a U.S. animated film ever in the market.

Nine years is a lifetime for foxes and hares. But it's also the ideal space between installments in a thoughtful animated franchise (see "Inside Out 2"). Back in 2016, Disney's wildly popular "Zootopia" showed vulnerable species trying to get along with those that might normally attempt to eat them.

The sequel stars returning voices like Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman and Shakira alongside newcomers Ke Huy Quan and Quinta Brunson.

Zootopia 2 is the new animated movie from Disney, hitting theaters this November. The sequel brings back the popular buddy cop duo, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, who are now chasing a mysterious new character named Gary De’Snake.
