LGBTQ+ words have been increasingly added to dictionaries as queer culture continues to become more mainstream.
The dictionary website announced an update of more than 15,000 entries, refining and adding terms specifically related to race, identity, sexual orientation, and mental health.
For those who have never ventured to the website before, Urban Dictionary is a crowdsourced glossary that was created in 1999 by Aaron Peckham.
Dictionary.com is also battling growing competition from chatbots and Google Search, which can show the definitions of words without anyone clicking through to a website or app.
Dictionary entries are based on the Wiktionary database, which the makers say includes about 159,000 words. You can click on words on an entry page and the app will speak the word aloud for you.
