Despite consecutive wins over quality opponents, the Kansas basketball team still has a lot to prove moving forward.

Friday marked the first time Kansas and Baylor have played each other without at least one of them being ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 poll since December 1966. Regardless, the game will go down as one of the more memorable ones in the series,

The Kansas Jayhawks football team got a lot better on Thursday. Linebacker Trey Lathan announced he would return to KU after previously saying he intended to enter the transfer portal. It was unclear whether Lathan ever actually entered the portal after the announcement.

The contests featured plenty of soon-to-be NBA Draft picks, including Darryn Peterson and Flory Bidunga on Kansas’ side, and Cameron Carr and Tounde Yessoufou on Baylor’s. All four saw solid performances, though the Jayhawks saw the better night overall.

There is a long way to go and lots of good teams in the Big 12. But Tuesday night felt like a possible turning point for Kansas, as the Jayhawks hosted undefeated Iowa State and became the first team to beat TJ Otzelberger's Cyclones this season. Final score: Kansas 84, Iowa State 63.

Kansas basketball has now won back-to-back games during Big 12 Conference play. This time, on Friday, the Jayhawks defeated Baylor at home.

It was not always evident while he battled a lingering cramping issue, but over the past few games, Darryn Peterson's talent has been undeniable. The star freshman was excellent in limited action on Friday night against Baylor,
