Gov. DeSantis Expands Immigration Enforcement Powers In Florida Through New ICE Agreements
Governor Ron DeSantis announced Wednesday that Florida law enforcement agencies will enter into additional Memoranda of Agreement with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to enhance the state’s ability to enforce federal immigration laws.
Florida rushes to enforce new immigration laws
DeSantis has called for casting a broader net. Earlier this month, DeSantis announced a new agreement between U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Florida Highway Patrol that expands state officers' ability to interrogate, arrest and detain immigrants and carry out "street-level enforcement."

The new agreements involve the Florida State Guard, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the FDLE.
