After sunrise Sunday, most areas should see rain change to snow before it begins to taper off between midmorning and midday. Some snow or a mix of rain and snow could linger into the afternoon, especially toward Southern Maryland.
Officials across Northwest Florida are warning residents that the frigid rain and short-lived snow will be followed by a hard freeze overnight for many areas. That means motorists driving on Jan. 19 should be vigilant for somewhat hazardous travel if ice forms on roads and bridges.

Rain and snow is expected in the early morning throughout New Castle County before it turns into snow around 8 a.m., creating slippery roads.
