Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Jack Nicklaus, Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas are not names you’d expect to see linked with LIV Golf in any capacity – but that didn’t stop the breakaway league from leaning into the rivalry with a playful (and provocative) promo.

LIV Golf have taken a bold approach to promoting their latest season by turning to some of the most recognisable names in the sport. Amidst the chaos and controversy surrounding LIV Golf, their social media team came out with an ingenious marketing video ahead of the start of the 2026 season.

The new golf season kicked off last month, with many stars returning. Scottie Scheffler headlined the field at The American Express, finishing 27-under par and earning $1.6 million. Five-time major champion Brooks Koepka left LIV Golf for the PGA Tour.

Brooks Koepka will garner a lot of attention in his return to the PGA Tour after parting ways with LIV Golf.

We can’t say we expected a LIV teaser featuring Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Jack Nicklaus, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas and other PGA Tour pros/legends. But someone behind the scenes wanted to poke some fun at the rivalry, and we salute the ballsy decision.

Brooks Koepka said the first call he made after parting ways with LIV Golf was to PGA Tour legend Tiger Woods.

Tiger Woods on Brooks Koepka: "We get a probably top-3-of-his-generation player back that went to another tour ... and was adamant about coming back here."

When Brooks Koepka got his release from LIV Golf late last year, which set in motion his eventual return to the PGA Tour, Tiger Woods was the first person who came to mind for a phone call.
