A ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia appeared to largely be holding on Tuesday as military commanders from both countries met for negotiations, even as the Thai army accused Cambodian troops of violating the truce overnight.

Military commanders from Thailand and Cambodia held talks on Tuesday, as calm return to their disputed border and displaced residents began trickling back, following the Southeast Asian neighbours announcing a truce to end five days of fighting.

Thailand and Cambodia disputed whether an hours-old border truce was holding after the Thai army accused Cambodian forces of launching attacks. Meanwhile, a military-level parley has reportedly been postponed.
