Lewis Hamilton was called out by Formula One rival Fernando Alonso during Friday's practice session. Hamilton had been receiving a tow down the main straight from Alonso’s Aston Martin team-mate Lance Stroll during FP2. Taking to the team radio to air his frustration, Alonso sarcastically said: “We have the hero of the day in front of us.”
The FIA has launched an investigation over a potential breach committed by Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll during qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix. Stroll qualified a disappointing 14th in Barcelona on Saturday with the Canadian more than half a second slower than Aston Martin team-mate and two-time World Champion Fernando Alonso.
Lance Stroll has been withdrawn from Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix on medical grounds after suffering pain in his wrists after qualifying.
Oscar Piastri was in total control throughout qualifying despite a late resurgence from Lando Norris. Max Verstappen, however, never looked in the mix, and only the timing of his final run got him ahead of George Russell’s Mercedes for third.
