With thousands of protests planned across the country on Saturday, Jacksonville officials urged residents to keep the protests peaceful.

No Kings” protests will be held across the country in various locations, including several in Eastern Carolina. According to their website, on June 14, traditionally Flag Day, protestors plan to gather for a “nationwide day of defiance” in an effort to show the flag does not belong to President Trump but to the people.

In a social media post, the sheriff said there were no arrests made, reports of injuries, property damage or road blocks during protests across the city Saturday.
