Taking to social media, an X user - using the social media site which formerly went under the name Twitter - savaged the high street bank.

Banking apps have once again been hit by IT issues on payday in the UK. Lloyds Bank and Halifax apps went down on Friday morning, according to thousands of user reports to platform outage monitor Downdetector. Users also reported technical issues affecting access to the TSB and Bank of Scotland apps.

Lloyds Bank has explained a restriction for customers when attempting to make cash deposits, after a person was refused service in branch. The subject emerged when an individual enquired if it was possible to pay cash into a friend’s Lloyds account in person at a branch.
