The “extremely dangerous” storm has forced more than a half-million evacuations in Vietnam and thousands in China.

Vietnam's central belt was lashed by Typhoon Kajiki on Aug. 25, with at least one person killed by deluges and gales howling more than 130 kilometers per hour, as tens of thousands of residents were evacuated from the path of the tempest.

Vietnam has evacuated hundreds of thousands and closed schools and airports as Typhoon Kajiki, its strongest storm so far this year, nears landfall.
