Two former Memphis Police officers convicted in a federal trial related to the death of Tyre Nichols filed documents seeking a new trial Tuesday.

Two former Memphis Police Officers who were convicted of federal charges in the death of Tyre Nichols are set to appear in court Tuesday morning. Former officers, Desmond Mills and Emmitt Martin, had already received a delay in their sentencing.

The judge presiding over the federal case against five former Memphis police officers convicted in the fatal beating of Tyre Nichols has recused himself from further proceedings, just days before four of them were scheduled to be sentenced.
