As injection-molded plastic rose to prominence in the 1950s and 60s, Tamiya made the move to the new technology, and the first plastic Tamiya kits began to appear on store shelves in Japan.

The club features two model train sizes — O-gauge and the smaller H-O-gauge — on its large displays. The club invites people to bring trains to try out on test tracks.
