A press release sent by the Pennsylvania Lottery on Monday confirmed that two winning numbers of the Near Year’s Millionaire Raffle were recently sold in York and Dauphin Counties between December 2 and December 8.

A winning Powerball ticket worth $2 million was sold in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, as the jackpot climbs to an estimated $1.1 billion for the next drawing.

Powerball has grown to an estimated $1.1 billion after no ticket matched all 6 numbers in the last drawing. Dec. 15 draw is close to Hanukkah holiday.

On Sept. 6, a $1.787 billion prize was split by ticketholders in Missouri and Texas. That jackpot was the second-largest in Powerball history, surpassed only by the Nov. 7, 2022, jackpot of $2.04 billion, a world national lottery record.

The Powerball jackpot rose to an estimated $1.1 billion after there were no winners during Saturday’s night drawing. It’s the second largest jackpot this year and the 12th to cross the $1 billion threshold in the past five years.

The top prize in the Powerball lottery has surpassed $1 billion. Billion-dollar pots are becoming more common as more people buy tickets.

A lucky player in Michigan won a $1 million prize in the Powerball drawing held on Saturday, Dec. 13. The winner matched all five white numbers drawn -- 1-28-31-57-58 -- to win the prize. Had the player also matched the red Powerball number -- which was 16 -- they would have won the $1.
