The likes of Rafael Fiziev, Renato Moicano and Mateusz Gamrot offered to step in and replace Hooker. If it were up to Cormier, he’d like to see Gaethje fight Moicano, who’s coming off a short-notice title loss to Islam Makhachev at UFC 311. Cormier says history proves that Moicano (20-6-1 MMA, 12-6 UFC) is the right man for the job.

The UFC 313 co-main event is in need of saving. Justin Gaethje vs. Dan Hooker, one of the hottest fights of the year, is no longer taking place next weekend in Las Vegas after a broken hand forced Hooker off the card.

Gaethje, nor the UFC have responded to Hooker's injury. It's unclear if Gaethje will remain on the card if Hooker is removed. The lightweight fight was the main support for UFC 313, headlined by UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira vs. Magomed Ankalaev on March 8.
