A story you may have heard claims the beloved Sesame Street character Elmo went on an antisemitic rant on X over the weekend.
It seems Elmo's world recently included vitriolic racist and antisemitic social media posts. Sesame Workshop says it seeks to restore control over the beloved puppet's X page.
Sesame Workshop confirmed in a statement to Variety on Monday morning that the account had in fact been “compromised by an unknown hacker who posted disgusting messages, including antisemitic and racist posts.” The spokesperson confirmed that the “account has since been secured.”
