Tropical Storm Dexter is continuing to pull away from the U.S., and the National Hurricane Center says it will likely become a powerful extratropical cyclone soon. FOX Weather Meteorologists Bob Van Dillen and Haley Meier have the latest forecast on Aug. 6, 2025.

Scattered storms are possible again today across southeast Louisiana. Heat index values will climb near 100, with more afternoon rain chances into the weekend.

Tropical Storm Dexter is continuing to head east-northeast to the middle of the Atlantic Ocean as it strengthens Wednesday morning, however forecasters say Dexter has a day or two left as a tropical system.
