Since Verdansk departed Warzone in 2021, Raven Software has struggled to capture the same magic despite releasing some of the biggest and most unique maps ever seen in any Call of Duty game.

Call of Duty: Warzone ’s rumored nuke event sounds insane, with the setup seeing Zombies overrunning Verdansk and a bomb dropped as a last-ditch effort to contain the undead.

That’s right, Verdansk is back in Warzone in 2024, but only on the mobile version of the game. Depending on the mode or playlist, Verdansk in Warzone Mobile supports up to 120 players.

Season 3 is all about original Warzone nostalgia. Verdansk isn't the only part of Warzone making a return -- weapons, vehicles and gameplay mechanics are coming back as well.

But Warzone won't be doing any of that, it seems. In a developer broadcast, associate creative director at Raven, Amos Hodge, confirmed that we've seen the last of OG Verdansk.

The Warzone Last Hours of Verdansk start time is 10am PT (1pm EST, 6pm GMT) on December 6, and will run through to December 7, according to Raven Software's Trello board.

The main motif, though, is that Verdansk is going back in time to the Cold War era. As for when this new Warzone map will finally arrive, that much remains unclear.
