The Boston Bruins have announced that they have called up defenseman Billy Sweezey under emergency conditions. In addition, they shared that Henri Jokiharju has been designated to the Bruins' non-roster due to a family matter.

CHICAGO – Mason Lohrei, celebrating his 25th birthday, scored two goals to help the Boston Bruins win their sixth straight game, 5-2 against the Chicago Blackhawks at United Center on Saturday. It was the defenseman’s first multigoal game in the NHL.

The Anaheim Ducks have acquired forward Jeffrey Viel from the Boston Bruins in a trade for a fourth-round draft pick.

Chara's No. 33 will be hung from the rafters prior to the Bruins' game against the Seattle Kraken on Jan. 15 at TD Garden. Sweezey was called up by the Bruins on Jan. 16 on an emergency basis after Andrew Peeke exited Thursday’s win over the Seattle Kraken with a lower-body injury. He did not play Saturday against the Chicago Blackhawks.
