Chelsea striker Marc Guiu will be sidelined for weeks after picking up an injury during Monday's 2-1 Premier League win over West Ham United, coach Enzo Maresca said on Friday.

Enzo Maresca has revealed that one Chelsea star could be sidelined for ‘months’ after suffering a ‘bad injury’ ahead of the FA Cup clash with Brighton. The Blues travel to the Seagulls twice in the same week, as they meet at the Amex on Saturday night in the FA Cup fourth round before a Premier League match next Friday.

Following loan stints at his former team Vasco da Gama and Nottingham Forest, he was shipped out to Strasbourg in February 2024. The 20-year-old extended his loan spell with the French outfit, which is part of the same BlueCo ownership group as Chelsea, until the end of this season.

The Blues didn't sign a striker or forward in January despite the exits of Joao Felix and possible drug ban for Mykhailo Mudryk.
