Immigration raids have had a profound chilling effect in parts of the city, with Angelenos staying home from work, school and other outings.

With Los Angeles reeling from immigration sweeps and unsettled by nightly clashes between protesters and police, Mayor Karen Bass was asked by a reporter: what she did she have to say to President Trump?

Bass said the raids are the "cause of the problems" across the area and that the problems have been "provoked by the White House."
