Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Andy Pages found himself at the center of a brewing rivalry this week after a tense exchange with San Diego Padres manager Mike Shildt. The incident occurred during Monday’s 6-3 Dodgers win, when Padres starter Dylan Cease hit Pages with a 97.7 mph fastball in the fourth inning.

After the game, Padres third baseman Manny Machado shared his thoughts on Pages's reaction. Machado did pay a compliment to the season Pages is having, but he also said that if the Padres wanted to go after one of the Dodgers' players, it'd be one of the team's "big dogs," not Pages.

After Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr. was hit by a pitch in the top of the third inning by Dodgers reliever Lou Trivino, reigning National League MVP Shohei Ohtani was hit in the leg with one out in the bottom half of the inning.
