During their performance at the Alaska State Fair on Friday, Aug. 22, drummer Brann Dailor addressed the audience and reflected on their former bandmate, who died in a motorcycle crash on Wednesday, Aug.

Police reported that, at around 11:35 p.m. on August 20, Hinds died riding a Harley Davidson. The driver of a BMW SUV neglected to yield making a turn at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Boulevard and collided with the motorcycle.

"We are in a state of unfathomable sadness and grief," Hinds' former bandmates wrote in an emotional tribute to the late heavy metal rocker.
