Residents in Auburn and east Pierce County may have woken up early Saturday morning to an earthquake. A 3.4-magnitude earthquake shook the area at about 3:45 a.m., according to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network. It had a depth of 25.36 kilometers. The earthquake reportedly happened about 13 miles east of Tacoma.

The earthquake, which had a shallow depth, was reported around 1:30 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
