Not long after the CS arrived, BMW is still working on hotter versions of the M2.

First photos of BMW’s new M2 CS surfaced ahead of the full debut next week. The 3.0-liter six-cylinder makes around 525 hp, up from the standard M2’s 453 hp.

BMW says the M2 CS, thanks to its increased power and lower weight, will be able to hit 60 mph from a dead stop in just 3.7 seconds, which is pretty damn impressive for a rear-wheel drive car.

These are all things absent from the BMW M2 CS—and no self-respecting buyer will care. In nearly every metric most people use to determine if a car is good value, the 2020 BMW M2 CS falls flat.
