President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has retained his core economic team and Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, while replacing two Cabinet officials in a major post-election shake-up following his administration’s poor performance in the recent midterm polls.

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr will retain his trade, finance, budget and economic planning ministers but will replace the foreign minister in an overhaul of his cabinet, his executive secretary said on Friday.

The president’s call follows his candidates’ underwhelming performance in the midterm senate election last week.
