FRANKLIN, Calif. — A man’s iPhone helped officers find the site of a deadly car crash near Elk Grove late Thursday night. According to the California Highway Patrol, its Sacramento Communications Center got a call of an iPhone crash notification near the intersection of Hood Franklin and Franklin roads around 11:15 p.m.

FRANKLIN PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- A Franklin Park gas station is closed after it was damaged by a crash Saturday morning. Officials said two cars collided around 10:30 a.m. at the nearby intersection of Grand and Rose streets, and one car hit the gas station pumps. According to the Johnson County Coroner's Office, 29-year-old Braden Christopher Robertson, originally from Fairfield, Illinois, was killed in the crash. Coroner Michael Pruitt said Robertson had lived in Franklin for about a month before Sunday's crash.

Jerrin Alan Staker, 43, is charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, causing death, a Level 4 felony, for the July 6 crash. Staker’s Jeep collided with the passenger car driven by Braden Christopher Robertson, a 29-year-old who moved to Franklin one month ago from Fairfield, Illinois. Robertson died in the crash.
