Would the Cleveland Guardians seriously trade Jose Ramirez to the New York Yankees before the MLB trade deadline?

José Ramírez said he would gladly participate in the game and the Home Run Derby next year if he isn’t nursing any injuries.

The Guardians may well be sellers at the trade deadline this season. Cleveland sits 12 games behind the Tigers in the American League Central and 4.5 games back in the Wild Card chase. They won six of their final ten heading into the Break which has them positioned squarely on the fence in terms of buying or selling at the deadline.

Realistically speaking, standing pat is the worst thing the Guardians can do at this point. They either need to move candidates like Emmanuel Clase, Carlos Santana and possibly even Steven Kwan to rebuild their farm system, or they must go for broke to try and make another run with 32-year-old Jose Ramirez.
