Three-time defending champion Iga Swiatek has reached the Qatar Open semifinals by beating Elena Rybakina 6-2, 7-5.

"We see it as a profound injustice, that disrespect[s] an entire category of players," wrote the Italians on social media in a joint statement. And they weren't alone.
