Shohei Ohtani being the breaking point.  Ohtani was plunked in the bottom of the third inning by Padres pitcher Randy Vasquez, which sent manager Dave Roberts into an irate tirade toward the umpires.

On Monday, Dodgers center fielder Andy Pages took exception to being hit by a pitch. Los Angeles retaliated on Tuesday by plunking Fernando Tatis Jr. in the top of the third inning. In the bottom half of the inning, Shohei Ohtani caught one in the upper leg.

Shoehi Ohtani’s debut wasn’t perfect, but it also could have gone a lot worse. After not pitching in nearly two years, the Japanese right-hander clearly showed signs of rust and lack of command in his first big league action of the season.
