The Downriver shopping mall has struggled with financial challenges over the past decade, Taylor city officials say.

The new owners, Greenwood Global, indicated they plan to maintain the mall as a shopping center, instead of redeveloping the property.

The longtime Downriver shopping mall at 23000 Eureka Road was sold to Greenwood Global, a private group near Chicago, according to a release from the city of Taylor.
