Jake Fraley's playing time had decreased significantly since the Cincinnati Reds added two hitters at the trade deadline. He was DFA'd Sunday.

The Cincinnati Reds designated outfielder Jake Fraley for assignment prior to Sunday's game against the visiting Milwaukee Brewers. Cincinnati recalled outfielder Will Benson from Triple-A Louisville in a corresponding move.

However, the acquisition of Andujar is also believed to have played a pivotal role in Benson's move to the Bats, as Andujar made his debut with the Reds the day before Benson was sent to Louisville. Despite this, Fraley also plays as an outfielder, opening up an opportunity for Benson's return.
