A South Florida woman has filed a lawsuit claiming she was wrongfully Baker Acted in March of 2024 by a prominent South Florida doctor and others. The Broward Sheriff’s Office tells NBC6 the incident is now under review. In a statement, Dr. Daniel Bober’s attorney said, in part, Demoree Hadley was placed under Baker Act “due to the potential risk of imminent harm she posed to herself.” Sig 9, the company that assisted her transport, denied wrongdoing, saying their role was “limited” and “lawful.
