Horse hiccups, also known as synchronous diaphragmatic flutter (SDF) or “thumps”, is a condition that causes a horse’s diaphragm to contract in rhythm with its heartbeat. It can look and sound like a human hiccup, and can also cause the horse’s belly to shake. She had the hiccups for about 45 minutes and then it went away as fast as it came on!!
