Good morning from Georgia peanut harvest! Peanuts grow in warmer climates because they have a long growing season… planted in May and harvested about now! Here this machine is called a digger/shaker and digs the peanuts out of the ground to be flipped over to be dried in the sun. Then in a few days, the combine will come through & separate the peanuts from the vines. Vines are left to decompose in the field and provide nutrients for the soil and the peanuts are shipped off for processing for you
