In 1985, after years of fundraising by the whole community including popstar Engleburt Humperdinck and Oscar winning actor Anthony Hopkins, the first patient was admitted to our ward. The hospice was officially opened by the Prince and Princess of Wales – an event that is well remembered to this day. LOROS has been here for the local community for over 40 years.
