Norfolk Fire-Rescue now has a new high speed rescue robot, E.M.I.L.Y. (Emergency Integrated Lifesaving Lanyard) made by Hydronalix and donated to the department by the U.S. Navy. This remote controlled robotic rescue boat also provides Sonar, courtesy of the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), to provide high-resolution and real-time imaging underwater to support search and rescue efforts.
