The North Carolina Work Horse and Mule Association hold a couple plow days each year. This one was at Spot Rouse's ranch. One of the nice things about plow days is it brings together a bunch of people, their horses, and enthusiasm to try new things. At the Joel Baldwin plow day in Ashtabula, Ohio, earlier this year, A couple of teamsters put together a six-horse (three and three) hitch on a two bottom gang plow using a rope and pulley system. It was a first for the horses and the teamsters. And, despite the rain, it went pretty well. | Rural Heritage Magazine
