LOOK: Time-lapse footage of Mayon Volcano’s summit shows pyroclastic density currents (PDCs) generated by lava dome collapse at 1:16 PM and 4:09 PM, according to PHIVOLCS. The agency also recorded a total of 16 PDC events between 12:26 PM and 4:30 PM on January 7, 2026, producing grayish to brownish ash clouds that rose up to 200 meters drifting east-northeast.
